Anyone understand?

The weather reports that hurricane Nate made a second landfall in Biloxi, MS, just after midnight today. It’s now downgraded to a tropical depression as it heads inland. This is the third hurricane to ravage America’s coast since the Eclipse in September 21, 2017. And since then there has been a terrible mass murder in Las Vegas, NV. There have been many other murders, crimes, and distressing events throughout the world. People are wondering, “Are these the ‘End Times’?” Well. . .

The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, doing abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.
—Psalm 53:1,2

It wasn’t all too long ago that President Obama confounded and angered a lot of Americans when he said, “America is no long only a Christian nation.” Some misinterpreted the president to say that America was no longer a Christian nation. To Most Americans, I suppose, believe in some god; they believe in a higher power. Most people wouldn’t say, “There is no G-D!” Some do. Most won’t.

But what’s the difference in saying there is no G-D, and saying the G-D of Israel isn’t supreme, that He’s only one of many other gods? When we do, we begin to accept what some are already saying, even Christian—allegedly Christian—church leaders, that the god of Mohammad is the same as G-D of Israel. How much more insult is our G-D planning on taking. Jonah prayed unto the L-RD. . . ” I knew that You are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster. (Jonah 4:2) I’ve heard it said that G-D’s hand of mercy extends far enough to grasp and restrain His hand of judgement. Yet Apostle Paul says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.” (Romans 1:18)

A television series, Criminal Minds, follows a group of behavioral scientist working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Often during the investigation of a particularly violent or serial crime, they probe for the trigger that set off the “unsub,” the unknown subject that committed the crime. When Y’shuaJesus was in Jerusalem, He “entered the temple and drove out all who sold and bought in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those who sold pigeons. He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you make it a den of robbers.” (Matthew 21:12,13) I guess Y’shuaJesus was T R I G G E R E D! And He didn’t head straight way to His safe place. He acted, and acted swiftly.

It seems to me that the Jesus described by Matthew is a very different Y’shuaJesus that had little kids sit on His lap, shewing away adults who wanted to send the kids away. It’s a different Y’shuaJesus than the one a lot of folks call “Baby Jesus” at Christmas time. And yet, perhaps he’s not. He was consistent in His mission on Earth. He acted completely and solely with one agenda: He came to die for us. His heart felt desire was to 1) give His life as a ransom for many;2) call sinners to repentance; and 3) to give eternal life. There’s a scene in an old John Wayne movie in which the character Mr. Wayne is portraying holds his arm back, his hand forming a fist. He says, “I’m not gonna! I’m not gonna!” And the final scene shows the character’s fist going forward as he says, “Like hell I’m not. . .” T R I G G E R E D!

Following the eclipse, we’ve seen hurricanes, an horrific mass murder on people in Lost Wages, Nevada, and many, many more murders and tragedies. Is it the Last Days before Messiah Y’shuaJesus comes back to take His rightful place as King of the Earth? Maybe. Maybe not yet. But it serves as a wakeup call. If we know Y’shuaJesus as our savior, if we believe He is Messiah, then we’re okay. If not? Well, those who refuse His mercy will experience His wrath. Judgement. Sodom is an example. Your choice.

Choice today to Whom you’ll put your faith.

Lord Bless, Keep, Shine. . .

  1. make sure you put jonahzsong at the top of our list each month. Your are a plain and to the point writer. And, you give people questions to think about and challenge them at the same time. It is one of many of your gifts. LBKS masr
