Apparently Nobody Wants An Illiterate Couple With Five Kids

Mobs of Pakistanis; Demand Public Hanging or Will Shut Down Pakistan

Even though Asia Bibi will certainly be murdered in Pakistan if she is not evacuated soon.

Ms. Bibi and her husband are Christians; they are the parents of five children; they are illiterate.

The Bibi’s, since Ms. Bibi’s arrest in 2010, have received help from Mr. Joseph Nadeem and Family. The Nadeem family has been and is still threatened by Islamic groups in Pakistan.

“A number of prominent British imams have opposed extremism by joining calls for asylum for Ms. Bibi and her family. And, as the Irish people recently taught Britons, it could well be time to talk about and, if necessary, challenge all blasphemy laws, which may no longer be appropriate if indeed they ever were. Human compassion, humanitarian principles and the right to freedom of religious belief and expression, so often cited by governments but not always delivered, must surely be prominent in the responses we in the West make to situations like Asia Bibi’s.” —America, The Jesuit Review, Dec. 05, 2018.

“So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.” — Solomon, Ecclesiastes 4:1

Blasphemy: A Memoir:
Sentenced to Death Over a Cup of Water

by Asia Bibi and Anne-Isabelle Tollet

Commentary:

We are appeasing a dangerous, radical enemy of humanity. I applaud the Pakistani Supreme Court for their Landmark decision to accquite Ms. Bibi of the blasphemy charges that had her on death row for eight years.

“According to local media, Pakistani police have cracked down on the Islamic radical party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (T.L.P.) and arrested its leader, the hard-line cleric Khadim Hussain Rizvi, on Nov. 23. This is the group that organized violent protests after Ms. Bibi’s acquittal and release. Mr. Rizvi’s party paralyzed the capital city of Islamabad for weeks, cresting in a wave of protests on Nov. 25 that Mr. Rizvi called for as a way to “pay tribute to the martyrs of his party.” Mr. Rizvi has also publicly threatened a fatwa against the magistrates who acquitted Ms. Bibi.” — From the article in America.

Pakistan IS NOT inclined to appease hard-line Islamic clerics, and is standing up against them. That certainly is more than America and Britain, or it seems any other country is willing to do.

Any reduction in American aid to Pakistan, then, would be foolish, as I suggested in a previous post.

Note that “Appeasement in an international context is a diplomatic policy of making political or material concessions to an aggressive power in order to avoid conflict. The term is most often applied to the foreign policy of the British governments of Prime Ministers Ramsay MacDonald, Stanley Baldwin and Neville Chamberlain towards Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy[2] between 1935 and 1939.” —Wikipedia

Cleared Of Blasphemy; Mobs Demand Death

Asa Bibi, Prisoner in PakistanLast week, Pakistani Christian Asia Bibi Pakistani was cleared of blasphemy charges. JonahzSong has previously carried posts about her imprisonment. Ms. Bibi spent over eight years on death row for alleged crimes against Islam’s Prophet.

Today, at Paul Thinking Out Loud  there is a link to an article at Religious News Service that reports “Yes TV, Canada’s largest multifaith broadcaster, has sent a letter to the Canadian government offering to sponsor and settle Asia Bibi.”

The article goes on to state that despite Ms. Bibi’s release, she is staying in a converted prison cell fearing for her life. Those who wanted her murdered by the State, now want to murder her themselves. Even her lawyer and his family have fled Pakistan.

Pakistanis Demand Death

Even the New York Times has posted an Op-Ed piece on Pakistan’s New Religion of Blasphemy citing Islamic Conservative that want Ms. Bibi murdered (hanged for blasphemy).

It hasn’t stopped their either, for “Posters were put up with fatwas against the judges who had issued the Bibi decision. The judges’ guards and cooks were urged to kill them before evening; anyone who did would earn great rewards in the afterlife,” wrote Mohammed Hanif.

True to the Prosecution.org slogan, “It didn’t end with the coliseums; Christians are still Persecuted.”

PAKISTAN EASTER SUNDAY SUICIDE BOMBER TARGETS CHRISTIAN WOMEN AND CHIDREN

A suicide bomber killed at least 65 people mostly women and children, at a public park in the Pakistani city of Lahore on Resurrection Sunday. “More than 300 others were injured” police chief Haider Ashraf said. “The park was manned by police and private security guards. We are in a warlike situation and there is always a general threat but no specific threat alert was received for this place,” he added.

The blast occurred in the parking area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, a few metres away from children’s swings in a busy residential area.  Eyewitnesses said they saw body parts strewn across the parking lot once the dust had settled after the blast.  “When the blast occurred, the flames were so high they reached above the trees and I saw bodies flying in the air,” said Hasan Imran, 30, a resident who had come to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park for a walk. Media footage showed children and women standing in pools of blood outside the park, crying and screaming and rescue officials, police and bystanders carrying injured people.  Dozens of women and children were seen being wheeled into hospitals, covered in blood. Many of the injured were transported to hospitals on taxis and auto-rickshaws due to a shortage of ambulances. Hundreds of citizens arrived outside hospitals to donate blood.  Local television channels reported that many of the dead bodies were being kept in hospital wards as morgues were overcrowded.

The Taliban faction Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on Easter Sunday, saying it intentionally targeted Christians. “The target was Christians,” a spokesman for the faction, Ehsanullah Ehsan, said. “We want to send this message to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that we have entered Lahore. He can do what he wants but he won’t be able to stop us … our suicide bombers will continue these attacks.”  Islamist militants in Pakistan have attacked Christians often over the past decade.

“Many are in operation theatres now being treated and we fear that the death toll may climb considerably,” Salman Rafique, a health adviser for the Punjab provincial government, said.

“We were just here to have a nice evening and enjoy the weather,” Nasreen Bibi said at the Services Hospital, crying as she waited for doctors to update her on the condition of her two-year-old injured daughter.   “What kind of people target little children in a park?”  When the army was called in to control crowds outside the park some distraught, sobbing relatives clashed with police.

Fox News reports that “A pistol-packing pastor shot and killed a man who was allegedly trying to attack him with a brick on Sunday in the vestibule of a Detroit church, police said.

“Cops say Deante Smith, 25, attacked the unidentified pastor and threatened several parishioners of The City of God church with a brick and hammer, FOX2reported. Police said the attack was not random; the pastor and Smith knew each other and the two have had problems in the past.

“Assistant Detroit Police Chief Steve Dolunt said a previous police report had been filed against Smith, The Detroit Free Press reported. ‘The pastor pulled out his Glock and fired several shots,’ said Steve Dolunt, asst. Detroit police chief

“ ‘The pastor had had issues with the man before,’ Dolunt told the Detroit News. ‘He had been threatening to do him bodily harm. He walked into the service and went after the pastor with a brick. The pastor pulled out his Glock and fired several shots. I think he hit him four or five times, and the man died.’

“Sunday’s incident occurred just before 2 p.m. as church was ending, Detroit Police Sgt. Cassandra Lewis told WWJ.

FOX21019
“ ‘We’re not sure at this point whether the man had mental problems or what,” Dolunt said. ‘It’s still under investigation.’

“No one else was hurt during the episode, according to FOX2. The pastor has been questioned by police.

“City of God is a non-denominational church, according to its Facebook page.

“ ‘The reality is, things can happen anywhere now,’ ” City Councilman Andre Spivey told the Detroit News. ‘[Church] is a haven of rest and safety…when you cannot be safe in God’s place of worship, where can you be safe?’ ” (Published October 19, 2015 Fox News)

The Huffington Post’s report omitted City Councilman Spivey’s quote, while adding this: “The incident touches on a growing issue for parishioners who worry about the threat of violence in places of worship, particularly following the deaths of nine people in Charleston, South Carolina, and the rise in burnings of predominantly black churches.

“One church leader has urged his congregation to apply for concealed weapons permits; another pastor has taken it upon herself to obtain a concealed carry permit in order to protect her congregation.” (Posted 10/19/2015 Huffington Post)

Another attack on Christians at a community college in Roseburg, Oregon, was reported by Mark Baker in The Register-Guard on Oct. 06, 2015.

“‘Are you a Christian?’ he [the community college shooter] would ask them,” Stacy Boylan said during an interview outside the hospital [where his daughter had been taken after being shot]. “And, ‘If you’re a Christian, stand up.’

“And they would stand up and he said: ‘Good, because you’re a Christian you’re going to see God in just about one second.’ And then he shot and killed them. And he kept going down the line and doing this to people.”

Mr. Baker, in his article, also mentions other attacks and alleged attacks that singled out Christians.

Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master. ’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

Slaughter of Christians–”History Repeating Itself”

In an article on Breitbart’s News Website reports that Judge Jeanine Pirro, host of the Fox News Channel’s Justice with Judge Jeanine” argued that the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East was “history repeating itself.” The article follows:

“Why do we stand by and watch the genocide of Christians in the Middle East, it’s history repeating itself. But remember, it is to our detriment this time. Six million Jews were killed in the Holocaust while the world looked the other way…let’s hope we speak out soon, so others will speak out for us” she declared.

She also criticized Pope Francis, stating “as men and women are butchered, children tortured, their severed heads displayed with pride by jihadists, the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, puts the enormous weight of his papacy behind the plight of Central American children already in the United States, and he works to normalize US-Cuban relations, and does nothing more than call for constructive dialogue with Muslims over the Christian genocide. Since when does the Catholic Church look to mediate the abuser with the victim?”

Pirro also argued that the threat of Islamic jihad was not isolated to Middle East, pointing to attempts to institute Sharia Law in the US and saying “the lone wolves are here in the United States. America was founded by people who gave up everything, their families, their fortune, and their livelihood to ensure through the First Amendment, that we would have religious freedom, that ‘Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech.’ So why does it feel like we’re moving in the direction of our First Amendment rights being subjugated to the religions of others. When our president says an American should be prosecuted for exercising his First Amendment [rights] by making a video perceived as negative about Islam, when the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton says, we need to understand and empathize with our enemies, we are on a downward spiral.”

BC01MLThe persecution of Christians is happening throughout the world. In Nigeria, Islamists have taken over large areas and imposed Sharia Law, persecuting and killing Christians. In the Philippians Christians have been persecuted for thirty years in some areas. In Viet Nam, India, Nepal, and in Western Nations as well there is a growing number of cases of persecution against Christians.

And it’s getting worse.

But we don’t have parts of the United States under Sharia Law. Why is that? Isn’t religion protected? We have a Bill of Rights. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution reads:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

The First Amendment says that the government cannot prohibit the free exercise of religion. So Sharia Law could come about, you may say. Yet it is possible to rule against certain actions or practices of religions. In 1878 the U.S. Supreme Court decided that America could not prohibit the thoughts and beliefs of people regarding religion, but in the Court opinion, “Laws are made for the government of actions, and while they cannot interfere with mere religious beliefs and opinions, they may with practices.”

It is under this criteria that the government has forced children to undergo medical treatment when the parents, for “religious beliefs” have withheld it. This is the reason that Sharia Law, as a action imposed for “religious beliefs,” may be interfered with by American Courts.

The government has an obligation to apply its laws equally to all people. Those practices,  those actions, that might be taken under Sharia Law that are illegal, that are against the Legal Law of America, may not be practiced.

At this time, despite some of the issues America has faced, that America continues to face, we are a Nation of Law and of Justice. Perhaps that is the very reason so many people would like to see America fall. But as long as there are some Christians, some Followers of Y’shuaJesus, remaining in America, America shall not fall.

[Abraham asked] Suppose ten are found there. He [G-d] answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it [Sodom].” Genesis 18:32

Persecuted for Messiah

The other day, a woman asked me what book that was on the dash of my truck. It’s in a book cover that says “This Book is Illegal. . .” I said, “The Bible.” She shook her head. “Really! The Bible is illegal in some countries?”

BC01ML“Yes,” I said, “it is. Not only is the Bible illegal, but sharing the Gospel message is also. Not only that, but simply holding “church” is illegal in many countries.” She continued to shake her head as if to say, it’s hard to believe.

Is it hard to believe? If you haven’t visited www.persecution.com, the web home of Voice of the Martyrs, you’ve most likely not encountered stories of persecution against Christians. The mainstream media doesn’t tell the tale of faithful Christians attempting to fulfill the mandate given us by our Lord Y’shuaJesus just before he ascended into Heaven.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

Matthew 28:19,20

And it isn’t only evangelists and pastors that are persecuted, by the government and others: Too many children are injured or murdered each year. Take Weng Goodluck, for instance: (from Voice of the Martyrs bulletin)

“Weng Goodluck Tshua was three weeks old in March 2010 when Fulani Muslims attacked his village of Dogo Nahawa and slaughtered 501 Christians. All nine members of his family, including his father and mother, were killed. He was rescued from his burning house, but not before the fire had consumed his feet. As Weng has grown over the past few years, he has been unable to run around or even walk. But a VOM prosthetics team is helping change that.

“After studying his feet, the prosthetics team fashioned special shoes for both of his misshapen limbs. They returned several months later with specially fitted shoes that can be adjusted as three-year-old Weng continues to grow. Each shoe is made of three layers. As Weng grows, the inner layers can be removed as needed, to allow more room in the shoes. The team plans to provide new shoes for Weng before he grows out of the final layer of these shoes.

“This week VOM received new video of Weng, proudly walking around in is new, custom-made shoes. You can support blessings like this one to Weng and help provide for other Christians in need of medical care due to persecution by giving to support VOMedical.”

You can see the video of Weng Goodluck here.

Pray for the persecuted Church. They pray for us. And someday, we may be the ones suffering so intently simply for our choice of believing and following the Lord Y’shuaJesus.

A pastor in Pakistan wrote the following letter:

Shalom,
I think END TIME started since 2013 beginning in Pakistan.
I personally visited Joseph Colony and talked to the people about the number of homes burned in this tragic incident, but exact number is missing, yet Govt. will prepare 257 homes there.

tnIntroduction.
This is a pure Christian colony, only one Muslim family was staying there at rent with a Christian family, and at last this association become a conflict, and it created such a terrible incident.

Reason.
Thursday last[7th March] both of these families quarrel with each other at drinking table and insulted and humiliated, blaming and abusing each other, and in the end it become Blaspheme. The very Christian person Sawan Masih was arrested under rule, he was in police station at that time, mean while it was planned by Muslims and police requested the people to exit the colony and save themselves. People do so and took refuge in their relatives homes in Lahore considering we will come back when all the matter will resume.
After 36 hours the mob gathered and they have a special ammunition  material with them as well as equipped with guns, revolvers, and all type of arms run over the colony. They looted first and then set fire each home, not a single left.

Damages.
The mob looted their household things first, and which they could not able to take with them they burned at the place. The burned things are TVs, Fridges, Washing machines, Almarahs, sewing machines, bikes, cycles, boxes, clothes, household utensils, wooden beds, blankets and quilts, gas pipe lines and electricity connections, fans burned and melted on the ceiling, double and triple stories buildings are destroyed in such a manner that they are no more in use. Iron was melted and bricks were in powder form.

Help.
Government has announced to make new homes for them, and PKR 500000/= as help. Now people from all over Pakistan visit them and serve the with food and other necessities of life. Even Govt. is also providing necessities of life for them. At this time they are sitting and living in tents provided to them by different agencies.

Recommendation.
They all are needy so being brothers and sisters in Christ we must help  them and pray for them.
In Him

Take time to pray for Sudan and South Sudan

The following came from Renewal Ministries Fellowship:

Sudan suffered seventeen years of civil war during the First Sudanese Civil War (1955–1972) followed by ethnic, religious and economic conflicts between the Muslim Arabs of Northern Sudan and the mostly animist and Christian Nilotes of Southern Sudan. After the Second Sudanese Civil War in 1983 and following a referendum held in January 2011, South Sudan (The Republic of South Sudan) seceded on 9 July 2011 with the consent of Sudan.

Despite this result, many crucial issues are yet unresolved. Pres. Bashir, like many of his predecessors, is pushing for a 100% Islamic state in Sudan. Deliberate attempts to eliminate a viable Christian presence are extreme and include bombing of Sunday church services, destruction of churches and hospitals. Persecution is especially severe in the Nuba Mountains, whole areas have been laid waste and lands seized and given to Arabized northerners leading to extreme poverty and famine in these areas.

The threats to people of South Sudan after the referendum are numerous. Christians, in particular, have for many years been experiencing some or other form of oppression. At times there has been persecution. None of them quite anticipated the intensity of persecution that hit during the past 5 months. Some Christians underwent incredible levels of persecution, including extensive physical and emotional torturing.

Pray :

Pray for Unity in the Church. It is incredibly hurtful to hear that some pastors have played into the hands of Sudanese security forces by creating immense difficulties for fellow pastors. Pray for unity in the Sudanese Church and also for wisdom in how to deal with so called “traitors” within the church playing willfully into the hands of evil forces.

Pray for a spirit of prayer. Pray that the Holy Spirit would strengthen the body of believers in Sudan to stand firm and united in prayer.

Pray for the Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) to be able to fulfill their difficult role during this time. Christians in Sudan are in desperate need of strong leadership. Pray that the SCC would not be so paralyzed with fear that their actions would become irrelevant during these extremely difficult times.

Pray for Christian families from Muslim background as conversion to Christianity is punishable by death.

Pray for boldness in Christian believers especially for Church leaders. Acts 4: 29 – 31

And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to your servants to continue to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.

Pray for the persecutors. Many of the lower levels of the Sudanese security personnel actually tasked for the implementation of deeds of persecution and torture apologize to those they persecute.

Pray that the Sudanese Christians would not stop fulfilling their mandate of reaching out to Muslims with the love of Christ.

Pray for the multitude of Sudanese who are deeply dissatisfied with their government and in their dissatisfaction, are seeking alternative solutions, e.g. turning to Christ. Pray that this move towards Christ will increase.

Pray that God would reveal Himself to the extremely radical and dangerous groups of people in Sudan, like He did with Saul of Tarsus, in such a way that there would be people among them that turn to Christ.

“…May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them…” (John 17:23)

According to the Open Doors 2013 World Watch List, Persecution of Christians in Africa increased immensely in 2012. Mali is a newcomer on the list and holds the seventh position. Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and Niger also enter the list and Ethiopia is one of the strongest risers. This rise is due to the increasing influence of Islam, states Open Doors.

Of the African countries, Mali is the most noticeable newcomer on the list. The way the situation in Mali escalated after the March coup shocked Open Doors. “Mali used to be a model country. Although the situation in the North used to be a bit tense, Christians and even missionaries could be active. But now Christians are simply no longer allowed to be there. Hundreds of Christians have fled from the North.”

From: Global Action
I just came to know that, last Sunday , February 10th a group of Hindu Fanatics attacked the house church of R.D. Joshua from Uttar Pradesh Region. He was leading the Sunday worship service when the attackers came and accused him of converting people. They beat him badly and fractured his hand and threatened the believers to stop worshiping the “foreign God Jesus”. He is also banned from entering the village by the fundamentalist group. This group belongs to the higher caste Hindus that are politically influential. The local police has refused to lodge any complaint because this may cause even a stronger threat on his life! We are trying to help Pastor Joshua with the medical treatments but need your prayers as well. Please pray for his speedy recovery and complete restoration of strength.

This is very alarming but similar persecution is quite common. Please remember to pray for Pastor R.D. Joshua and our brothers and sisters in Northern India. Joshua is a GLOMOS graduate from the 2011 group. He is pastor of a church in and is leading quite a church movement there. He has 20 cell groups in different villages with 16 cell leaders. Just a couple of weeks back we did a “Blankets of Love” distribution in one of village churches under Pastor Joshua’s leadership. Pastor Joshua shared with us his vision to reach out to new villages and thanked us for providing the blankets which expressed the love of Jesus in a tangible way. No doubt the phenomenal growth of the local church has prompted the enemy to do these sort of things to dampen the spirit of the leaders like Pastor Joshua.

Please pray for:

The new believers in this house group church who are terrified to see the condition of their pastor;
The cell group leaders who also expect similar threat in some areas after last Sunday;
RD’s wife Mrs. Tara Joshua.;
Police to book the FIR about the incident and justice is done

KENYA — Pastor Killed by Gunmen
Gunmen attacked two Somali pastors on Thursday, Feb. 7, in Garissa, Kenya, wounding one and killing Pastor Abdi Welli. The pastors were leaving a bank when they were shot. Pastor Abdi leaves behind his wife, Helen, and three young sons. “He was a great, faithful believer who continued onward for the sake of the gospel in a very dangerous place,” said a VOM field worker. “Today, he gave his highest act of devotion to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Garissa is a violence-plagued city in northeastern Kenya, where Islamist terrorists have been targeting Christians and churches. Last July, terrorists killed 16 people in church bombings. Please pray for Pastor Abdi’s family and the other believers in this community, who are all affected by his death.

Countries on the World Watch List do not necessarily experience persecution throughout the country. Countries like China have areas where there is virtually no persecution and areas where there is persecution. However, in some countries like North Korea, there is persecution throughout the country.

In the WWL, persecution is defined as, “any hostility, experienced from the world, as a result of one’s identification with Christ. This can include hostile attitudes, words and actions towards Christians both from within and outside Christianity.”

It is illegal to be a Christian in North Korea and Christians are often sent to labour camps, where they are starved and beaten, or are killed if they are discovered. The conditions in this country have remained the worst in the world for Christians for the past 11 years.

The situation changed in Mali for the worse in 2012 following the capture of the northern part of the country by Tuareg separatists rebels and Islamists fighters and the proclamation of the creation of the independent state of Azawad in the north. Islamists soon established an Islamic state with a Sharia regime in the north. Christians were driven out and churches burnt. There is widespread concern Mali is becoming a jihadist hub.

Based on our media research, we can confirm 89 killings of Christians in Syria during our reporting period. With tens of thousands of Christians having fled the country, abductions, rapes, physical harm taking place, so that clearly explains the fact that Syria has risen so much in its ranking.

###
While most of the Believers in America are free from persecution, it cannot last. Like the parable that Y’shua told of the Ten Virgins, we must be wise and prepare. We must also stand in prayer for Saints in countries that persecute them.
